Batman is a superhero and vigilante who fights crime in a city full of crime called Gotham city. His name is Bruce Wayne and he is part of his father's company, Wayne Industries. When Bruce Wayne was a boy he witnessed the murder of his parents, one night after coming out of a theater, by a thug named Joe Chill. Young Bruce was left an orphan in his parent's rich mansion with the company of his loyal butler Alfred who took care of him then forward. Bruce grew up and took on fighting crime in Gotham, which was full of crime, with a bat-suit he designed calling himself the Batman. His suit comes with armor, a bat cowl, a cape, and an utility belt that has all kinds of gadgets that help him fight crime. He also has a batmobile, a batcycle, a gliding cape, and his Batcave in which he uses to hide his costume, batmobile, and other stuff and he also uses his batcave for research and experiments and finding criminals with his technology provided by Lucius Fox, and he is accompanied by Alfre who gives him advice and helps him sometimes. Batman fights multiple villains and has encounters with other superheroes and even was a member of the Justice League.
Batman has had a lot of animated series and movies portrayed by different actors, but the most notable actors playing him are Michael Keaton (Batman 1989 film) and Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy. The most notable Batman movies were the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy starring Christian Bale as Batman and it also features Ras Al Gul, Scarecrow, Joker, and Bane. A Man of Steel sequel featuring Batman is being planned and Ben Afflect won the role for Batman. This new version of Batman is most likely a reboot of the character. The movie is set to come out in 2016.
